Overview
Account Executives are responsible to develop, coordinate , and maintain a profitable portfolio of clients or “book of business”. Salesmanship, professionalism, and the ability to win new business via an existing network, referrals, and cold calling is essential in this position.
Earnings are a combination of SALARY and COMMISSION or PURE COMMISSION. A variety of salary/commission combinations are offered and higher commission rates pair with lower base salaries. Adjustments to your salary/commission combination can be made as your book grows allowing you to earn larger and larger commissions. Responsibilities
- Effectively prospect new business, develop leads, sell and on-board new client LTL, FTL and Freight Forwarding business throughout North America
- Manage your client accounts to retain existing relationships and grow share of business
- Successfully negotiate price & service with prospects.
- Organize and accomplish sales activities in an efficient and economical manner consistent with sales objectives
- Maintain excellent communication with external and internal customers
- Coordinate account service expectations and customizations to operations team
- Keep fully informed regarding competitor developments
- Safeguard all assigned company assets and proprietary data
- Facilitate information meetings with operations team members

Qualifications
- 3 years freight sales experience preferred
- History of involvement in community, athletic or extracurricular activities preferred
- Above average enthusiasm, energy, and drive

Overview
Our title for this position is Account Manager. Account Managers are “hubs” sitting between and facilitating both sales and operations. They are the eyes and ears of the Outside Sales/Account Executive in operations, alert to new leads or potential issues that the Account Executive should know or act on. And, they are the lead operations person for the “book” ensuring the smooth execution of shipments, transparent communications to clients, and that all the important minutiae that must be done gets done and done right. This position plays a critical role in the new client onboarding process as responsibility transitions from the outside rep to the inside rep.
Responsibilities
- Build, Maintain and effectively grow client relationships to retain existing volume and grow share of business as the “inside” pod lead
- Act as the “inside” half of the sales team in partnership with an Account Executive (“outside” half) whose joint role is to grow and maintain a book of client relationships
- Understand client needs and objectives
- Perform analysis and seek solutions to provide less expensive, more effective solutions to clients
- Set up and revise client profiles in computer systems
- Proficiently process client shipment orders across multiple modes (we will train!)
- Educate clients and manage expectations
- Problem solves escalated shipments
- Successfully negotiate service parameters with clients.
- Organize and accomplish operations activities in an efficient and economical manner consistent with pod objectives
- Help with variance resolution and freight claims
- Maintain excellent communication with external and internal customers
- Execute Account Management frameworks in coordination with Account Executive (sales) and operations team
- Keep fully informed regarding competitor developments
- Safeguard all assigned company assets and proprietary data
- Facilitate information meetings with operations team members
- Effectively handle special assignments as directed
