Here’s where you can find information on all things logistics! We’re always here to help answer any questions you may have about Customodal, 3PL’s, or the industry!
The Basics
A Third-Party Logistics (3PL) provider is a specialized company that offers comprehensive logistics and supply chain solutions to businesses. These companies play a pivotal role in managing various aspects of the supply chain, including transportation, warehousing, distribution, inventory management, order fulfillment, and more. By leveraging their expertise, technology, and extensive network, 3PLs enable businesses to streamline their operations, reduce costs, and improve overall efficiency. They act as intermediaries between manufacturers or suppliers and the end customers, optimizing the movement of goods and information throughout the entire supply chain. Whether it’s coordinating complex international shipments, optimizing inventory levels, or enhancing last-mile delivery, a 3PL serves as a strategic partner, allowing businesses to focus on their core competencies while benefiting from the specialized logistics expertise of the 3PL provider.
Freight Claims
A freight claim is a formal request made by a shipper or consignee to a carrier (such as a shipping company or freight carrier) for compensation or reimbursement due to loss, damage, or other issues related to the transportation of goods. When goods are being transported, they can sometimes be subject to damage, theft, loss, or other unforeseen incidents. In such cases, the party that owns the goods (shipper or consignee) can file a freight claim to seek compensation for the value of the damaged or lost goods.
International Shipping
International shipping is a crucial component of the global trade network, enabling the movement of goods across borders to meet the demands of diverse markets. In this intricate process, a 3PL like Customodal plays a pivotal role in facilitating exports, acting as an intermediary, streamlining the complex logistics involved in international trade. From coordinating transportation modes, such as ocean freight or air cargo, to managing documentation, customs clearance, and warehousing, a 3PL ensures seamless and efficient movement of products.
